Gratitude
As I’ve spoken with many leaders this month, they remind me that the end of the year is already focused on new goals and desires for the next one to come. This perpetual state of improvement that is beneficial in many ways, doesn’t necessarily consider the reflective moments that help to understand specific drivers which led to success thus far. So at this time of endings and new beginnings, and with many of us embracing the upcoming holidays, I’m encouraging you all to take a moment and reflect on the specific contributions from your team. What were their actions; how did their talents make a difference; when did they go the extra mile? Get really specific, and let them know. Share your gratitude in a personal message - we all know when someone is being sincere and genuinely appreciative. And we all value when our contributions are noticed..
With this in mind I’m highlighting some of my own gratitude, as I’m coming to the end of this transformational year. With all the new people, experiences and hurdles that were part of the journey I’m honouring those from the past, as well as those who are new. The historical crew provides me with honesty, support, respectful challenge and enthusiastic encouragement. In turn, the new has impressed me with their generosity, candour, advice, and once again encouragement.
So, if you’re reading this and can remember our conversations and connections this year, let me say thanks. I’m truly feeling grateful for the many moments of support that have made the end of 2024 much brighter than it started; and isn’t that what we all want to feel at the end of a year!
